About Me

Tristy Taylor is a transformation teacher, dream worker, shadow worker, interfaith minister, and counselor. Raised by world-renowned dream worker Jeremy Taylor and dream artist Kathryn Taylor, she has been working creatively with her dreams from the very beginning. She now offers her own unique, online teaching and one-on-one counseling which focuses on empowering people to live their most authentic life. All the tools she uses are designed to help clients and students reconnect with the inherent wisdom that is always available in the unconscious. She has a Master of Arts in Transformative Arts with a Dream Studies certificate from the Graduate School for Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University. She is also an ordained interfaith minister and certified Spiritual Director through the Chaplaincy Institute for Interfaith Ministry, where she has also been adjunct faculty since 2008. She also teaches a variety of classes for the wonderful Morbid Anatomy Academy.

Happy Full Moon! How has your dreaming been? My dream life has been deep & intense. Sometimes I remember my dreams easily & other mornings it has all evaporated into glimmers of images/feelings. It is totally natural to go through this kind of ebb and flow in dream recall.

42 years ago, this Little Leo Girl discovered full length mirrors. She grew up in a falling down house that prioritized books over looks. I want to be this precious Leo Girl’s Number One Fan. I want to go back in time and be in the front row of every one of her performances - which were always alone at home, because she was so shy. I want to teach her that she can say no whenever she wants - that her body belongs only to her. I want to show her how to navigate the world, knowing she is safe and loved and not as a scared rabbit who is overwhelmed and alone all the time. I want to give that safety and love to myself, then and now. I love you, Little Leo Tristy. Keep being the beautiful, strange creature you are. Your people will find you. You will find your Friend Family. You will lose some of them, and you will find more. 💔❤️‍🩹

It seems like we only had about three weeks of Fall here in Portland, and now it’s Winter. There are big chunks of ice all around the backyard as I yank out blackberry bushes and trim the ever expanding fig trees. I’m grateful when my body lets me do yard work. I love yanking and pulling and trimming and getting dirty. These cold, crisp days don’t offend my wonky thyroid and I can just go and go. I always feel a lot of grief when I work in the yard. Grief can be really powerful if you allow it to move through you, instead of fight it. It’s hard in the moment, but 10 minutes of sobbing grief is far better than decades of anxiety and depression. Try allowing in a little more grief in your life if you can. See if anything shifts for you. I promise, you won’t cry forever. Thank you. I love you.

Today would have been this giant, wild, free, pickle-loving Bear's 49th Birthday. I'm so grateful that I got to spend 12 years with you, Justin Bill Hunter. You taught me so much about patience, true partnership, and creating the life I want to live. Your gifts live on in me, including helping me blossom into this new love in my life. It is a stunning blessing to be deeply loved on both sides of the veil, at the same time. I feel you laughing and delighting and cheering me on, as I create the life I want to live, with the people I love, here in Portland. Happy Birthday, Justin. I love you.

October! You were a wild ride. So many new experiences. My card was The Empress and I felt her guiding me through the highs and lows and in-between. I’m so grateful. I don’t know what comes next and that’s A-OK with me. I’m resting in the love of my Heart. I trust this. I trust me. Thank you. I love you.

First party ever in my house was a rousing success! Great costumes, great food, and an excellent dance party. My snake crown stayed on my head, even when I was in full boogie mode! A Halloween to remember!! 🐍🎃👻💀🖤

NEW HAIRS! NEW BANGS! NEW BEGINNINGS!

I’m preparing for the start of my “Dreams & Death” class (which begins THIS SATURDAY!), and I like to kick things off in what some might find a surprising place - the nonlinearity of time.

Goodbye September! You were weird and cool and strange and magical. Every month I choose a new Tarot card and September was the 9 of Cups: Contentment. I do feel like I returned to myself this past month. I don’t feel quite so buffeted by all the chaotic energies of this time in my life/our lives. My sweetheart and I kept puzzlin’ and Tina kept causing Shenanigans. I started getting PR’s at the gym again, despite the new peri-menopausal bursitis that makes my joints ache. I got to run around PDX with a visiting @mandaemilycoop and do some deep Fat Lady Networking/Shopping, just like the old days! I got to watch @berendzenjohn enjoy the new bass guitar he built, while I ate the delicious roasted meats he cooked for us, and I watched the roses I planted over a year ago, get so tall they towered over my head! The last slide has my Dream Titles for the month. I haven’t written “The 11-page Story of my Life,” but I’m working on it!! 10 images just aren’t enough to sum up Sensual September, but that’s all the robots allow! How did September treat you? I’ve been following along as @ghoulnextdoor searched for the artist that painted the cover of my own childhood 1976 copy of “A Wrinkle in Time,” and the mystery has been solved! I loved listening to @wbur ‘s Endless Thread podcast episode all about this quest, and I relished in how the hosts - particularly @amorymusic - never gave up on finding out who this artist was and giving him the credit he deserves. 💚🖤

Hello to a new month and a new journal. August was bookended with two Full Supermoons. The first was sweet and nourishing and the one we just had knocked my heart around in such a brutal way that I am still recovering from it. I’ve been dreaming about prisons and how easy they are to break out of/free myself of. I’ve been dreaming of disintegrating houses. I’ve been faced with the truth that no other human can love me out of hating myself. I’m deepening into new ways of loving myself, Trismegista First. I feel sad. I feel grateful. I’m terrified, and excited about what September has in store. Thank you. I love you.

Another journal completed. When I started this journal, I had not yet met my sweetheart, John. So much has transformed for me since March! Wow. Another very tough Dream recall month, but the ones I could catch were whoppers! August is already proving to be quite a wild ride! We’ll see what more unfolds… 💗💖💝

Friends! I’m TRIPPING OUT on the new (to me) Dream Journaling app @elsewheredreams which my friend and colleague Kelly Bulkeley turned me on to. It includes speak-to-text, so recording your Dreams is very easy. You can upload your own images or have AI images generated (and I have included some of those AI-generated images here). There is automatic tagging of each Dream which creates fascinating statistics. The AI-generated Dream analysis is surprisingly on point, due in part that it is sourced in both David Fontana’s 1994 book “The Secret Language of Dreams,” and also Kelly Bulkeley’s decades of Dream insights. I’m really enjoying playing around with it. I also want to acknowledge the very real challenges around involving AI in something this tender and personal. The terms and conditions are very clear about privacy and that the AI generated information stays within the app, and of course, using AI technology always has risks, no matter how conscious and careful the developers are. I myself am open to this level of collaboration, but I respect those who are not. It’s a wild and diverse world and we can all dwell here together! 💗 In the future, there will be an option to create private groups and I’m excited to try that function when it is ready and share my dreams with my fellow Online Dreamers! 🦋

I’m working on all the moving parts of my BRAND NEW CLASS that I will be teaching for my beloved @MorbidAnatomy beginning THIS SUNDAY, the Lucky 13th of August.

It amazes me to tell you that Justin left his body 8 years ago tonight. This is the strangest anniversary yet, because for the very first time since Justin passed away, I have a new sweetheart.
