About Me

Tristy Taylor is a Portland, Oregon-based transformation teacher, dream worker, shadow worker, ordained interfaith minister and dream artist. Raised by world-renowned dream worker Jeremy Taylor and dream artist Kathryn Taylor, she has been working with her dreams from the very beginning. She has been leading dream groups since she was 15-years old, and over the last three decades, she has grown her own dream work offerings to include art making and ritual as guided by the dream world, as well as opening the rich secrets of Shadow work and nightmare imagery. She has a Master of Arts in Transformative Arts with a Dream Studies certificate from the Graduate School for Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University, and she currently teaches a variety of classes for Morbid Anatomy Academy and the Chaplaincy Institute for Interfaith Ministries. She also sees clients one-on-one and facilitates online dream workshops every season.

I’ve been following along as @ghoulnextdoor searched for the artist that painted the cover of my own childhood 1976 copy of “A Wrinkle in Time,” and the mystery has been solved! I loved listening to @wbur ‘s Endless Thread podcast episode all about this quest, and I relished in how the hosts - particularly @amorymusic - never gave up on finding out who this artist was and giving him the credit he deserves. 💚🖤

Hello to a new month and a new journal. August was bookended with two Full Supermoons. The first was sweet and nourishing and the one we just had knocked my heart around in such a brutal way that I am still recovering from it. I’ve been dreaming about prisons and how easy they are to break out of/free myself of. I’ve been dreaming of disintegrating houses. I’ve been faced with the truth that no other human can love me out of hating myself. I’m deepening into new ways of loving myself, Trismegista First. I feel sad. I feel grateful. I’m terrified, and excited about what September has in store. Thank you. I love you.

Another journal completed. When I started this journal, I had not yet met my sweetheart, John. So much has transformed for me since March! Wow. Another very tough Dream recall month, but the ones I could catch were whoppers! August is already proving to be quite a wild ride! We’ll see what more unfolds… 💗💖💝

Friends! I’m TRIPPING OUT on the new (to me) Dream Journaling app @elsewheredreams which my friend and colleague Kelly Bulkeley turned me on to. It includes speak-to-text, so recording your Dreams is very easy. You can upload your own images or have AI images generated (and I have included some of those AI-generated images here). There is automatic tagging of each Dream which creates fascinating statistics. The AI-generated Dream analysis is surprisingly on point, due in part that it is sourced in both David Fontana’s 1994 book “The Secret Language of Dreams,” and also Kelly Bulkeley’s decades of Dream insights. I’m really enjoying playing around with it. I also want to acknowledge the very real challenges around involving AI in something this tender and personal. The terms and conditions are very clear about privacy and that the AI generated information stays within the app, and of course, using AI technology always has risks, no matter how conscious and careful the developers are. I myself am open to this level of collaboration, but I respect those who are not. It’s a wild and diverse world and we can all dwell here together! 💗 In the future, there will be an option to create private groups and I’m excited to try that function when it is ready and share my dreams with my fellow Online Dreamers! 🦋

I’m working on all the moving parts of my BRAND NEW CLASS that I will be teaching for my beloved @MorbidAnatomy beginning THIS SUNDAY, the Lucky 13th of August.

It amazes me to tell you that Justin left his body 8 years ago tonight. This is the strangest anniversary yet, because for the very first time since Justin passed away, I have a new sweetheart.

I am SO EXCITED to be teaching a BRAND NEW CLASS for my beloved @morbidanatomy in a little over a week: “Manifestation, Creativity and Magic: Collaborate with Your Natural, Inherent Wisdom and Allow New Possibilities Into Your Life.”

Farewell to one of the biggest comedic influences of my life. A brilliant Improvisor, and a professional weirdo, who lit a light for me and helped me find my fellow weirdoes. My sweetheart and I found a magical, weird antique store in Gladstone, Oregon yesterday and found this holographic Jesus light. So when I read of the passing of Paul Reubens, I put my Pee Wee doll on the Holographic Jesus. I can hear his perfect giggle as I placed him there. This doll has been through many art projects. It’s covered with paint and fishing wire and has brought me joy since middle school. Thank you Paul. Rest in Power.

I also returned home to the trees bursting with Figs! Birthday Month continues!

My Whirlwind Birthday Road Trip is complete! It felt so good to be back on the wild, windy coast again. I said hello to the ocean and my childhood crush, Folk Art Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Thanks to the extensive museum behind the tourist attraction known as “The Trees of Mystery,” I got to admire the stunning craft of indigenous peoples from all over the continent. I drove through so many climates and environments (in all meanings) on this trip. The West Coast is so stunning. I’ll never tire of its beauty. I’m committing to more road trips before Winter slithers back in. I want to drink it all up. Thank you. I love you.

Took a 2 & 1/2 hour detour just to sit and meditate in my most favorite chapel in the entire world - the #SeaRanchChapel . It always feels so good to sit inside this tiny wonder of Art & Magic. ✨💜 Now off to my AirBnB that is on a llama farm!

My Whirlwind Bay Area Birthday has come to a close. Tomorrow I hit the road and take my time driving back up the coast. It’s been so amazing to see my beloved friends and swim and eat cupcakes and visit @berniethybarber in his magical Occidental home full of bones and magic and the best collection of vinyl 45’s, including one HE RECORDED 40 years ago when he was 22 and a Tiger Beat Heartthrob on his way to stardom. The Bay Area no longer feels like home, and that feels great, because Portland is my home now and I really know that through my whole body. I’m so grateful for this trip. I’m so grateful to be beginning my Fifty-Wonderful year. I love you.

Fifty-Wonderful Birthday Bay Area Road Trip is in effect! After dodging semi trucks on the I-5 for two days, I am back in Marin County for a whirlwind trip. I’m staying with my dear @mariannaseger in a big Arts & Crafts-style house in San Rafael, just down the street from my old high school. I’m currently eating coconut flan from Sol Food in a tub full of Valerian oil. HEAVENLY. Tomorrow I will turn 51 with my beloved friends around the pool. I haven’t been back to the Bay Area since I moved to Portland the first week of 2021.

Today’s Cosmic Adventure with my Sweetheart included the “Gustav Klimt Immersive,” exhibit [DON’T BOTHER - it was terrible except for a few moments of coolness] and then running around being Clowny Leo’s during our Birthday Month. Now we are planting some new plant friends we adopted on the way home. Toot Toot!

My Sweetheart and I like to just get in the car and cruise and see where we end up. Today I said TAKE ME TO THE TOP OF A MOUNTAIN, so we drove pretty far up Mt. Hood and enjoyed the tiny wildflowers. It was surreal to go from 95 degree heat to 65 degrees and a tiny bit of snow on the ground! We saw the Timberline Lodge which was the exterior hotel from “The Shining,” but we did not find any marmots. It was a lovely adventure.

When your sweetheart is a Chaotic Cosmic Cowboy he cooks you pork ribs and collard greens straight from his garden and you both light things on fire on Interdependence Day! 🤪🎆💥

Wow, June passed in a FLASH, didn’t it? I’m still figuring out how to record my dreams, now that have a regular sleepover sweetheart 😉 There are quite a few dreams that were remembered, but lost by the time I had a chance to record them. This is okay! Sometimes waking life needs more of our attention. We are always ebbing and flowing in all aspects of life. Lots of Dream Cameos this month, including @mameozenfant and my favorite comedian @atsukocomedy. Tell the Ladder You Climbed It and See What Happens! 🪜 🚂 🔥

Whenever I get a new testimonial, I feel like tap dancing straight up to the stars! This one comes from a student who just completed my “Be the Wise Navigator of Your Dream Time” class that I taught for @morbidanatomy this month.
